THE FAMILY-OWNED ESTATE IS LOCATED IN THE TOWN OF PALAU-SAVERDERA, IN THE ALT EMPORDÀ REGION IN THE NORTHEAST OF CATALONIA/SPAIN

Regarding the location, a decisive feature is the Mediterranean climate that provides great character and personality to our olive trees.

In addition, due to the location of the farm-owned estate, the effect of the north wind “tramontana” (from the mountains to the north or northeast) and the warm climate, so characteristic of this area, the olive trees are exposed to a considerable degree of aridity. This fact implies that the trees undergo some thermal stress that confers a greater degree of certain properties (phenols) to the fruit due to the low presence of water.

In this sense, it is worth highlighting the importance of the progressive pruning campaign that is carried out every year to guarantee the harmony and balance of the olive trees, so that they can grow healthier and be more productive. The entire pruning process, as well as other ecological treatments that are carried out, are supervised by expert collaborators and the Catalan Council of Organic Agricultural Production (CCPAE).

ANOTHER FEATURE OF OUR FAMILY-OWNED ESTATE IS THE VEGETATION COVER THAT IS MAINTAINED ALL YEAR ROUND TO GUARANTEE A GREATER BALANCE OF THE FLORA AND FAUNA, WHICH ARE HIGHLY BENEFICIAL FOR OUR CENTURY-OLD OLIVE TREES

This practice, which is so vital for us, breaks with some traditional customs of the region that have historically taken a different direction, so that this becomes yet another important hallmark of our brand. The level of care and maintenance of the vegetation cover of our estate allows one walk across it barefooted all year round.
